DESIGN STORY I once lit up the skies in brilliant blue, calling through the forests of South America. Now I live in whispers and wonderings. No one’s quite sure if I’m still out there... but sometimes, it only takes one sighting to bring a species back into the story.

Brilliant blue and endlessly captivating, the Glaucous Macaw Brooch celebrates a bird wrapped in mystery and wonder. This species is considered extinct by many, having not been officially sighted in decades, but we're holding onto hope. Hand-assembled from layered resin and released as a limited-run design, it’s a meaningful piece for anyone who believes every species deserves its place in the sky.

ABOUT: Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all of our designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand, there can be very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in our designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.

Brooch clasps are made with a 100% stainless steel pin and plated brass screws. Please note, components change over time and may be made with other materials. Designs come packaged in Erstwilder gift boxes.
